Meet the Founder
Rachel McCullough, Ed.S.
Founder of Thriving Roots • Executive Function Coach • Reading & Dyslexia Specialist • 19-Year Educator

Rachel McCullough is the heart behind Thriving Roots. As a long-time Georgia educator, literacy specialist, and mom of two, Rachel has spent nearly two decades helping children discover their strengths, build confidence, and learn in ways that work for their brains. After years of supporting students with ADHD, dyslexia, and executive function challenges in the classroom, she realized families needed something more personal, more flexible, and more deeply supportive than what traditional schools could provide.
Thriving Roots was born from that passion.
Rachel brings warmth, real-world experience, and a research-backed approach to every coaching session. She believes every child is “wired to grow” — and with the right tools, encouragement, and structure, they can thrive academically and emotionally. Her approach blends compassion with clear, practical strategies that empower kids, teens, and parents alike.
When she’s not teaching or coaching, you’ll find her reading, creating resources, cheering on her kids, or dreaming up new ways to help families feel supported and hopeful during their learning journey.
Thriving Roots
Thriving Roots is a coaching, academic support, and advocacy practice dedicated to empowering neurodiverse children and teens — particularly those with ADHD, dyslexia, and executive function challenges. We help students build lifelong skills for focus, organization, self-regulation, and independence, while equipping parents with the tools and strategies they need to confidently support their child’s growth.

Our services blend student advocacy, executive function coaching, group programs for teens, and parent education and coaching to support the whole family system. Whether helping students strengthen time management, organization, and self-regulation skills, guiding teens in our Wired to Grow™ group coaching program, or partnering with parents to create supportive home routines and advocate for school accommodations, we provide practical tools rooted in empathy and research. Every offering is designed to affirm neurodiversity and equip families with lasting strategies for growth.

At Thriving Roots, we believe that real progress happens when coaching and advocacy go hand in hand — supporting not just the student, but the system around them. Whether through personalized sessions, group coaching, or family-focused tools, our goal is to strengthen the roots of learning, connection, and confidence so students can thrive both in and out of the classroom.
